Version History is an integral part of any asset management system. You might want to update a template; edit a video without resetting all of its permissions; or have your latest slides handy, without losing access to the previous version. In all these cases - Version History is the solution.
How it works
Open the file, then click Upload a new version in the toolbar at the top of the preview screen.
After updating the file, all previous tags, collections, comments, and other data stay exactly as they were - only the file itself changes.
Previous versions are listed at the bottom of the details panel, where you can view or restore any of them. We keep every version indefinitely, so nothing you replace is ever lost.
Owners and admins can restore any file. Editors can restore files they uploaded themselves. See Roles & permissions.
Because a file's CDN link never changes, uploading a new version also updates the asset everywhere you've embedded it - no need to touch your website.
Versioning works for uploaded files only, not for saved links.
